I downloaded Kim Hyun Joong’s live version of ‘Creep’ by Radiohead performed at Budokan 2012 from Youtube again last night. I had this song on my old phone, and lost it when I changed phones. I finally found it again and have been playing it on repeat all morning and fighting back tears. I am not sad. I am moved. This song was a popular tune in the United States about 20 years ago. I liked the song when it was playing on the radio stations here constantly during it’s height. I did not purchase the song and I did not go to any of their concerts or anything like that. I liked the song. That was all. Now, I LOVE this song! Not just because Kim Hyun Joong covered it, but because of HOW he covered it. When I listen to his little introduction before starting the song, I can’t understand a word of what he is saying in Korean. It doesn’t matter. Just the gentle sound of his voice, and the inflections he makes when he makes a joke in Japanese and teases the fans makes me feel warm and happy. I don’t need to understand the words he is saying, because I understand the Emotion he is Evoking. This happens all before he even sings the first note.
KeyEast Announces Kim Hyun Joong’s Military Plans Will Not be Expedited as He Takes a Much Needed and Well Earned Period of R & R.
I was browsing around for news again last night and came across a couple more articles concerning Kim Hyun Joong’s Military Enlistment Plans and a brief but much needed statement from KeyEast regarding his hiatus over the last couple of weeks. The articles are still trying to blame his enlistment date on the scandal. One article even quoted the same interview I used in my last article where Hyun Joong made the statement he would enlist when he turned 30. They very conveniently left off the last sentence of that statement where Hyun Joong said he would enter the military early next year. I love how they selectively use his words to substantiate their claims and pull them out of context. Just like bits of text messages were pulled out of context to ‘prove’ his ex girlfriend’s claims they had been dating for two years instead of two months. KeyEast weighed in briefly stating that Hyun Joong was not enlisting early and in fact had not even received a draft notice to date. They assured that he was simply taking a rest from his activities and had not rearranged or cleared his schedule as a result of the scandal. The representative from KeyEast also stated that the news media should not have been reporting this news without confirming with his agency first.
Kim Hyun Joong hasn’t even received a draft notice. How would one enlist without a draft notice? The rumors of his enlistment are not true. Upon seeing the enlistment news reports, our agency representatives said that no one had contacted them about the matter; it’s strange. We don’t understand how those reports got out without confirming with us. -Yang Geun Hwan, Head of KeyEast Entertainment
