Oh, my chest! Why does it hurt so much? Why do my eyes burn? What is this!!!!????!!!! Oh... WAIT! That's my Angel Baby, Kim Hyun Joong, and who the HELL is that... half naked!!! WOMAN!? Seriously, I did not expect to feel this way when I clicked play on the 'Your Story' video on Monday July 29th. I was anticipating something like the Japanese version which was beautiful and heart felt and emotional and artistic. When I saw this... oh.... I am still not breathing properly. Breathe... breathe... breathe... calm... calm...watching him do such a mature make out session with clothes coming off and real kissing scenes and more clothes coming off and laying down on the bed and the muscles and the skin and the....panting... out of breath... can't watch...
I am still processing my thoughts and feelings about Unbreakable... and now, I have to endure this too? Really, I am so happy for Kim Hyun Joong. He has finally broken the Flower Boy mold. I know he has been working to be acknowledged as a real artist and a man. I am so happy for him to be doing what he wants and to be enjoying his success. It's just a little hard to take, even though he has been working up to this since Breakdown. I am smiling, but with sadness and a lump in my throat. I miss my Flower Boy... but, I am starting to fall pretty hard for this manly man! He always had my heart, now he has my FULL ATTENTION! :D
Aww... my head is still reeling! My thought to myself: I was all right with other K-pop artist having videos like this. I even watched a Taeyang video that had similar steaminess and wasn't affected much. But, this is my Angel. I'm struggling to accept it. He did promise in his 28th Message to us that he would show his soft side to us again in 'Gentle Man.' I am waiting patiently to see it. It will be the balm for my raw nerves like Marry You/Marry Me after Breakdown! KHJ knows just how to shock us and then heal us! LOL! His dark and edgy side is showing more and more. We all knew it was there... it's just a shock to the senses.

I finally got a chance to watch the last few episodes and although I am enjoying the Diving Competition for the other cast members, I am disappointed that Hyun Joong was unable to have as much screen time because of his injury. He did well, but I know he has the ability to do GREAT! It was sad for me. Not because I was disappointed in him... I was disappointed FOR him. I know how much he wants to always show his best.
His disappointment was obvious as I watched his expressions and reactions to his teammates. He was happy for them, but he just wasn't his usual enthusiastic self.
I was really excited when he ran and jumped off the platform and was the farthest jumper at 7 m! It was so cool! His smile was happy and bright, and I thought, 'That's my Kim Hyun Joong!' Even though Eun Hyuk jumped further later on, It reminded me of WGM days when he did a flip off the platform at the water park. He can do anything! He was so young then, really! The time has gone too quickly.

I am finding the most amusement reading the articles and reactions from the K-pop news sites trying to grab a piece of the spotlight that is shining on him right now. I am just hiding my smile when they come across with information and facts that were from his Breakdown times or even earlier. It feels good to be an 'insider' who knows the journey he has traveled to get where he is. Some of these articles make it seem like he's coming out of nowhere and bursting on the scene in S. Korea. 'Where has he been?' they seem to be asking.

One comment I read compared his 'wife beater' style in 'Your Story' and in the Star 1 photo shoot to Jay Park. His style is just like Jay Park, it said. Well, take a look back at Unlimited. He is not copying anyone. Kim Hyun Joong was already at home with this look. It's just a manly look. I'll bet I could find any number of idol stars in photos wearing their plain white undershirts to show off the muscles they have worked so hard to build. It's a man thing, not a 'Jay Park' thing. I am not shocked when people try to downplay him. It's just amusing.

My thoughts were racing after seeing the video for 'Your Story,' as I was trying to decide if I really know Kim Hyun Joong. Sometimes we can be so close to someone we don't see them changing. Has he changed? That was the question I was pondering with great depth. Truthfully, Kim Hyun Joong is a chameleon. This is what makes him such a great artist. He can put on any character and then take it off again like a garment. In order to know him, you only have to remind yourself of his words. When he speaks, we see his heart, and that is where his integrity remains.

He spoke of responsibility and caution saying he does not recall having to defend himself against any type of serious rumors. This has always been true. That is why I love him to the marrow of his bones. He may seem to be constantly changing, but in the center of the whirlwind is a man with stable values. For Kim Hyun Joong, one of the most important relationships in his life is his relationship with his fans. His comments prior to the release of the Korean version of 'Your Story' dedicates his hard work and the video to his fans. We may be stung with a bit of green eyed envy while watching, but we know his heart. He loves us and wants us to have fun with his music and art. Honestly, I have not been able to watch the video again after that first time. I have been a bit fearful! HA! My initial reaction was a bit painful.
